Sturmey Archer 3 speed MTB

I want to convert an MTB to use with a Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub. It seems the new SA hubs come in a 135OLN version, but if possible I'd rather use an old SA hub, which I think were all built with 120 OLN. Is the spindle long enough to make up the difference with spacers? Is there any other pitfall I haven't foreseen?

Thanks.

  • Probably should have posted this in MTB, now I come to think about it, but I'm intending the bike to be for road commuting, so I'll see what people think...

no, the spindle is too short, it will be too narrow for the frame.....
    I like bikes and stuff
  • Thanks. I feared that would be the case.
