Maybe a daft Chain Question

just bought my wife another bike which as full campag on it.

All the other bikes in our house run either Ultegra or DA

Can I run a SRAM chain on 9 speed campag like I could with shimano or do I need a specific chain?

Im used to going down my lbs and buying individual cables and outers and making my own up

Is their any compatibility between shimano and campag gear and brake cables

    I Have 9 speed Campag and use all sorts of 9 speed chains, works okay for me on 9 speed.

    You can put Shimano on Campagnolo if you like - as long as the chains the right width, doesn't really matter greatly what make - they all work but some are better than others. I prefer KMC X-series with the ti-nitride coating
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    Not so sure about cables though, LBS does mine - sorry.
