So let's have it; When playing first person shooters are you a controller (console) or Mouse and keyboard (PC) kinda guy/gal.
Oh and please try to resist turning this into a PC vs consoles fight

Thing is, I've only ever used the keyboard and mouse on the PC as I've never bought a controller! I expect it'll be a bit more of a console-eque experience if I did! Anyone here play Battlefield 2?0

Used to play BF2 all the time, working in a team with mates to control the points on the map was awesome fun. I miss it0

Prefer mouse and keyboard it feels more natural but playing MW2 on the PS3 is fine, different and takes some getting used too but just as good to be honest.0

Buy it again, I originally sold my copy but bought the deluxe version off CEX for £7.00 used! Now that they've released v1.5 (which has Armoured Fury + European Maps) it is fantastic; shame I can only be the static commander as my connection is too bad to actually shoot anyone!

I want both.
I used to be a mouse and keyboard person with halflife 1. Or if we're getting really old skool - just a keyboard for quake.
I'm now a controller person, but that is because I'm older and lazyer and need to get my kicks faster and easier. Not really active0 -
I still have my copy of the game (and the expansion) but my Gaming machine is a little on the fritz, won't boot just now and I can't be arsed to try to repair windows for now (yes I am very lazy)0

Did you ever go through a phase of building gaming PCs? I did for about 3 years! Then I found bikes and my monetary budget was restored. (But not for long  )0 -

Yeah, I haven't stopped really. The Gaming machine is about due for a new GFX card, they are very cheap now so when I get round to fixing it no doubt I will upgrade :roll:projectsome wrote:I tried the keyboard and mouse routine. i fail miserably
I grew up on consoles until I was 16/17, it took me a while to get used to 'WASD' but the precision is fantastic and I haven't looked back0 -
The only thing controllers are any good for is driving games. On an FPS a mouse is more accurate and faster every time."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

having only ever played CSS on the pc and MW2 on the xbox.
For me i much prefer mouse and keyboard, however being different games it could be different, I just prefer the speed of the mouse and greater sensitivity of hand movement rather than thumb. However i prefer trigger movement on xbox controllers for shooting over mouse click.
Both have upsides and downsides, as with everything in life. I will however stick to playing FPS on xbox except for CSS as its the only game my computer will run as i dont have the money to upgrade to a computer that will play all the latest games.0 -
Sorry but Goldeneye for the N64 caused me never to play a FPS on the pc again.0

mouse and keyboard is by far the best way to play it. However I haven't played any fps on pc in a long time. I stick to mw2 on my 360 for convenienceFormally known as Coatbridgeguy0

I am a staunch fan of gaming PCs, although I don't really like upgrading them, so I tend to buy something that should do me for a few years. I couldn't give a rat's @ss if a new processor is slightly faster or a Graphics card offers 50FPS more. If I buy to order or (sometimes) build a PC it usually does me fine for a few years
A good keyboard and mouse are essential though. I use a Cheetah keyboard and a Razor mouse combo0 -

Rofl 50FPS is the difference between getting that headshot, and getting shot in the head.0 -
everything I've tried since Doom2 is like Doom2 but not as good.
