Hi,
I dont know too much on road bikes, as i havnt had one before!!
Ive been riding mountain bikes for a few years now, though and feel as if a change to road would be good!
I would be very grateful if you could suggest any bikes in my price range!
I'm quite big...6'4, definitely 61/62cm size, i think? :?
So far i have found two reasonably good bikes, that have partial 105 spec.
Cannondale CAAD 8 105 Compact 2010 - http://www.evanscycles.com/products/can ... e-ec020232
Or..
Trek 2.1 2010 Compact - http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/road/2_series/21/
Would be really good if anyone with one of these bikes could give their view on its performance!!
However, if you know anything about road bikes at all, feel free to comment.
Thanks, Rob

Winter - Condor Bivio - cyclocross bike for commuting, cycle paths & rainy days - brilliant
LBS - Sigma Sport in Hampton Wick - Simply the best LBS
Stolen - 2001 Specialized Allez Elite :-(0 -

Isn't that surprising :shock:0 -
Not really I guess.
When you look at the best value carbon bikes it's astonishing the level of kit they team with a carbon frame for a price. Very hard for traditional, LBS high margin bikes to compete at the same RRP.
But then, the LBS main brand will have to adapt in order not to hemerage too much in sales to the likes of Ribble, Planet X and Boardman. (Though granted, Boardman is exclusively sold through Halfords - still amazing value).Summer - Cannondale Six Ultegra
