Is it just me or is it really rare to find a cracking deal on eBay these days? Discuss........

Merida made Carrera Zelos hardtail frame in good condition - £31

    I'd call that a cracking deal :D

The problem with a cracking deal is that it's usually a very poor deal for the person on the other end of it. After about a decade people are finally starting to wise up to that and try to get what the item is worth.

I dunno I bought quite a few things off ebay recently, mainly biking clothes for me and the missus.

Hell I bought a brand new pair (still got tags on) of Animal cycling shorts for her, anywhere else £40, ebay £5.30

it always seems difficult to find bargains if i am buying but i always end up reuced to making bargains when selling.

is it just me or have ebay fees gone up too? i wanted to sell something the other week but if i had got my asking price of 400 quid i would have only recieved 350 due to the final value fee and the listing fee combined.

I got an as-new, built but not ridden Cotic Hemlock off Ebay last week for £540, more or less half the new price for what's effectively a new frame. And a pair of Bontrager Rhythm TLRs to go with it for £70 delivered because the guy couldn't spell "Rhythm" Still good stuff there, you just need to keep your powder dry.

Couldn't agree more got a 3 month old Core 30 for £478 when the list price last summer was £850 couldn't have been ridden more than half a dozen times, amongst the sellers other items were helmet, gloves and shorts. Apparenlty the guy had gone into evans on a whim and bought a bike and what he needed then decided it wasn't for him at the end of the summer.

Yeah, my Kraken was like that too, though it was a gumtree buy not ebay. Biking's great for that really, motorbikes are the same, lots of practically new, ridden twice crashed once bikes in garages across the land

there's still bargains to be had. I find I just have to scour a little harder, longer and more frequently maybe.
