The Cento is a brilliant frame - its quick, climbs really well and you can ride it all day on successive days - did London to Cannes on mine in 6 days last year - it was perfect
That's it! All you need for all day comfort I reckon. I have ridden Cento Unos and the Gran Turismo, with it's very laid back geometry. Supposed to be the preferred sportive and crit choice but to me the CE felt sooo much nicer. Hope to try a Zero 7 this year and compare that.

Started on an Escape as my first road bike (I'm an MTB rider that dabbles with road!) and then moved on to an Izoard Centaur. Both fantastically built, Campag has been superbly reliable and the Izoard is wonderfully light and handles beautifully.

I rode my Cento Uno down to my LBS last night in preparation for a Look pedal fit they're doing at the weekend. First time she's been out since the start of Oct. Couldn't get the smile off my face. I love that bike.

Mine was epic get a used izoard from 2010 the spec is much better than today's offering
I have a 2010 Izoard with Campag Centaur, and love it. The frame is far better than the 2011 one. That said, I hardly use it as I train on my race bike (too afraid to race on expensive carbon!). I've only done 2,500 miles on it in 18 months. If anyone wants to make an offer (Cost £2.4k originally), then please do. I'd rather someone get some use out of it rather than me using it sporadically.

Absolutely love my Izoard. Had it for about 18 months now and I am in no way tempted to change it..

Not trying to troll/flame here but as I’ve said in a previous Izoard post a 170g weight saving does not make a bike frame far superior. Both the bikes have exactly the same frame design albeit one has carbon weave and one is UD, one has a full carbon steerer (the major weight saving) and one has an alu. That’s it. I challenge anyone to notice a difference in performance. The only major difference between the two is spec/cost on the build.
  • I bought my Wilier Isoard Ultegra last September when Evans thoughtfully reduced the price to £2k from £2.8k.

I'd had my eye on a Wilier since doing the Marmotte on my trusy Boardman Hybrid, seeing plenty of flash carbon en route. (Some going past, some being overtaken - particularly Dogmas ridden by chubby lads in Sky kit, but that's a different story!)

The Wiliers, along with Colnagos and Bianchis were a cut above the rest in terms of looks, so when Evans did the deal, it was a "no brainer".

I've never ridden any other type of carbon, but I can safely say that the "Izzard of Oz" (or "Oz" for short) is a fantastic bike. Very comfortable, gorgeous to look at, and as steady as a rock going downhill. It's pretty sprightly uphill as well, even with me on board!

Finding a Wilier specific thread inspired me to join the forum, just so I could post about my pride and joy to fellow admirers of the sexiest looking bikes in the world. :D

, but I still cant work out why Wilier put FSA cranks on my 7 - when the rest of the groupset is super record, if i had been given the choice I would have SR throughout - I believe it is weight related.

    +1 - I think you're right!
  • Yeah got me there boys WAY WAY WAY out of my price range !

Can't see it feeling or performing any different to the Record gruppo that was on the demo bike though ... can see the appeal to impress the traditionalists at the cafe stops though or if you are weight weenie stuck on only running Campag.

  • I am still happily riding my 10 year old Ramata (copper) Wilier 'Angliru' - ultra foco steel with carbon seat stays.

Last year Joe at Velocafemagasin rebuilt it with alloy Athena 11 speed with Rithcey Classic (silver) bars & stem and it looks amazing (if I do say so myself!).

The finish is looking a little tired with some chips and scratches in the paintwork but I have been unable to find any sprayers who can match the colour.

I think the Bob Jacksons' Amber Flamboyant may be close but it's really hard to tell from pictures on the internet! I know that my Wilier looks different every time I take a photo depending on the light.

Having the same dilemma, looking to trade up from a flat bar and have been checking out road bikes. Going to spend around $3000aus.
It's a toss up between the Scott CR1 pro and Izoard with a cheaper option of the Madone 4.7. The Scott seems a better package but the Willier is a great looking bike. Test ridden both and am going to try the Madone this weekend.
The Willier would get it on looks alone. :)

Any views on wilier vs scott? Particuarly the izoard xp centaur vs cr1 elite (has sram rival) please?

I need a sportive geometry but still want a racy feel. Have test ridden both and both great. Think it may come down to looks (in which case Wililer wins hands down) but is this the right thing to base the decision on? Upgrading from a lemond reno and new to carbon so anything feels good.

as for scott v's willier I have had / got both I sold the wilier great in every respect, but the scott is in another league but then was a much more expensive bike. Very light and you really notice the difference mine weighs in at 6.6k and the wilier I think was about 7.5 which I notice a big difference in climbing. The scott is a lot stiffer to and quicker to accelerate from a standstill. Build quality the scott feels more chunky and slightly better put together but then i think the italians do that with most things they look amazing but tend to be a bit fragile. I love both bikes but if i still had the two I would still take the scott as it had Di2 and i do enjoy that.
