I think I have just found one of the most beautiful bikes ever..
http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Bianchi-Hoc-928 ... _30169.htm
Unfortunately its £7k! Unless I sell one of the kids I cant buy this. However there is an equally gorgeous looking one with the same frame. The only difference is the Ultegra gruppo (which I already have and think is excellent) and the wheels are one up.

So for £4,100 less I can have an almost as good looking bike with perfectly good kit on it.
Question is, has anyone ridden one of these? How would you rate them.... I currently ride a Scott CR1 pro with Mavic Ksyrium Elites on. Anyone know how the (ace) Cr1 frame would compare with the Bianchi frame (£2.5k on its own)....also how would the Fulcrum 5s compare against the Ksyrium Elites..
One final rhetorical question...how on earth can the £7k bike be WORTH £4,1k more than the other one? I cant imagine the ride would feel more than twice as good!!
The only thing that worries me about this bike is that Ricco rides one...I dont want people to think I am in any way supporting Ratfink and his evil ways

Well the more expensive one has green on it instead of red.
That's gotta be most of the cost right there...0 -
Nice bike...
That Di2 is feckin' ludicrously expensive! :shock:Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -
Great looking bike. Do you know if Bianchi have stopped using lugged carbon in their high end frames?I ache, therefore I am.0
-
Yes I believe they have. The old 928 SL was the last lugged carbon bike they made. Sadly they are all made in the far east now and "finished" in Italy.
The new 928 HoC is really nice though.0 -
There's one in my local bike shop (Ultegra spec), it's a very nice looking bike - the stem and bars are a silvery/gunmetal colour (doesn't show very well in the URL pic) and are especially eye-catching.0
-
DLH1985 you say there's one in your local shop....does it look like the picture? Ie are the wheels the same deep rimmed ones?0
-
Yep, all the same spec, even down to the white Fizik Arione. Unfortunately my local bike shop is in Sicily - might be a bit out of the way!
Definitely deep-section wheels in the bike shop0 -
In the spec it says fulcrum racing 5s which aren't the ones in the pics.... fulcrum racing 5s are an entry level wheel (relatively)
Also the wheels pictured on the dura ace bike aren't the ones in the spec either...the ones pictured on both bikes are a much higher spec wheel0 -
yeah exactly, thats my point....i particularly like the wheels. Ill be extremely p*ssed off if I go out of my way to look at one of these and they come with a basic non aero wheel.0
-
look on the fulcrum wheels website, you will see the racing 1s (dura ace bike) and the racing 5s (ulegra bike). I don't think you will find these bikes with the deep areo wheel to be honest....0

The Racing Speed XLR wheels in the photo are £2200. They won't be on the bike for that price. It's pretty cheeky of them to do that.0

Right Im not buying it out of principle! I hate false advertising.0
