Freezing Feet - Advice on purchase

I use Gaerne winter boots on the mountain bike, Endura overshoes on the road bike, thermal socks or seal skins, and still suffered from cold feet.
Until I discovered the simple solution to cold feet - disposable foot warmers:

They're like teabags filled with some sort of magic. Take them out of the packet, and when they are exposed to oxygen they heat up all by themselves. They stay warm for 5 or 6 hours. Put it in your shoe, under your toes, and you'll never get cold toes again. An absolute god send.
Occasionally you may find there's not enough oxygen in your shoes to keep them warm, so just take them out for a couple of minutes and you'll feel them warm up.
The handwarmers are great too for keeping in your pocket on cold days.0 -
I've always suffered from cold feet in winter, unbearable sometimes, my feet felt like they'd died on more than one occassion.
This winter I've made a concerted effort to keep my feet warm.
I started off by reverting back to flats and wearing Sealskinz (which I've always done in winter).
This made all the difference and the added moving of my feet has kept them toasty warm. However, I don't really like riding with flat pedals so I've put the spds back on now.
As has been said, don't have your shoes too tight, I can't wear my summer shoes with the SealSkinz as they're just a bit too tight and restrict the blood flow. I'm now wearing Shimno MP66 shoes which are a bit too big in summer.
But the main thing I have been doing this winter, is making sure that my body has been warm, probably too warm if I'm honest, but if you suffer from cold feet, keeping your body hot will mean that any excess heat will be directed to your extremeties (feet and hands) and these will in turn be kept warm.
The last few cold nights I've been out, I've worn a base layer, a thin fleece and a windproof jacket up top, double layer tights under my shorts and a buff on my head. I've only worn thin summer gloves and both my feet and hands have reamined warm for the duaration of the rides which has been about 3 hours. I've walked through snow and the temperatures have been well below freezing.
Oh yeah, almost forgot, put your shoes on as long as possible before the ride as you can. Mine live in the garage so are always cold when I put them on.0 -
SIDI make remote controlled heated insoles, couple that with overshoes and you'll probably overheat!0

MT 500 all the way guys work perfect and if anything feet are too toasty now but much better than being cold, which just spoils the ride.
Steponahen - I could not think of a worst idea disposable foot warmers if it got that bad I give it up and wait until the summer. So Far!0 -

MT500s are probably fine if you use SPDs. Otherwise they are terrible. The pins on my pedals started shredding the soles from day one. The overshoes were very tight due to the sizing being somewhat smaller than implied. I had to regularly darn the soles to keep them together. Then the zip on one failed despite me always being very careful not to strain them when putting the overshoes on. They have been returned to Endura but I'll look elsewhere for replacements if I bother - hopefully the sealskins socks will do on their own.
To be fair, they did work well while they lasted - just that the name "Endura" is entirely innappropriate!Faster than a tent.......0 -

Sorry was not being rude although reading back my answer did seem a bit harsh, when you’re out for the weekend on a long ride the last thing I want to be doing is messing about with my footwear. If it works for you then fine but I would suggest you try these overshoes I always used to turn my nose up at them now could not ride without them in relevant conditions. So Far!0
