Ok, shall i take the easy option of buying that new 2010 whyte steel trail bike thingy for £1600, or build up a custom ragley blue pig? i know there slightly different, but they WILL only be used for trail centres, all day epics etc. And tbh i really cba to build yet another custom build although i'll probs be able to get a better spec.

hmmmmmmm???????????????

any other ideas?

safe...

What sort of build? Heavy duty, long travel, xc?

You could just about get a titamium frmaed bike for that, and plenty of carbon hardtails.

ahhh good question, i've been looking at the longer travel trail bikes, but tbh i have my hert set on a steel hardtail, i weigh over 15 stone, and although i know that carbon is an immensly strong material, i'm not so sure about how crash proof it is. but to answer your question, more travel would be better, and i wouldn't mind being able to do some relativley small drops and jumps. but yeah i havn't a clue though. im going to my LBS tomorrow to have a looksy, but as i've already mentioned a bunch of times, preferably steel hardtail with at least 120mm travel.

  • Genius Ultra hardtail from Chain reaction cycles for £799:

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=41724

    Fox 120,SLX chainset,XT mechs,brakes and even hubs.Bargain!

Who knows it may even be a good ride in its own right saving you £470 for the Cotic frame...........

Willturd has just ordered one plus one or two on the singletrack world forum,if you want to know more.

Might be best to ask them about cable length, steerer, length, mech and seatpost size if you intend using it as a donor.

If you read the Cotic site they reccomend a large.(Medium up to 6 ft 1,large 5ft 11 upwards.)

Again best to ask this on the Singletrackworldforum where there are loads of Soul owners.I`m sure it`s one of their default choice bikes along with the 456.....

I'll recommend a Soul to anyone, they're superb, mine just makes me a better rider. Expensive, obviously, but there's something just right about the handling, it has a rare balance- as happy pointed down or up.

  • yea, got my genius ordered, was hoping parcelforce were going to be doing a sat delivery, but clearly not. have to wait until monday now

no idea what the frame is going to be like, but as mentioned i dont plan on getting used to it. just waiting until march for another shipment of orange souls. who know it could be a gem!?

have a look on the single track forum, someone has posted some images of his buy. by all accounts its as expected.
