carbon disc brake calliper mounts? i was under the impression best practice was metal mounts bonded to the frame for better heat dissipation.
oh yeah looks shit, no were as nice looking as the carbon 456, yeah i know different class of bike.
still looks better than a zaskar
sorry SS couldn't resist, the zaskar looks better IMHO.Fancy a brew?0 -
mmm really like the look of it and at that price it seems a no brainer
ive been gathering components for my first serious mtb build including full slx groupset, slx brakes, chris king heaset 11/8, along with all the exotic carbon parts mentioned above, and was all set to have my previous mtb frame( marin bobcat 06 frame which i love) resprayed by bob jackson cycles until this carbon exotic frame turned up on there website!!! now im thinking of selling the bobcat frame on a well known auction site presuming i"ll get around £100 for the frame and taking away the £140 for the respray the exotic frame would set me back around £200 happy days
need to make sure that the headset will be 1/18 tho to match up the king headset and exotic forks.0 -
Not sure the headset will match - best to check.0

there was an interesting threa don the ebay carbon frames that a freind of mine linked me to when i weas looking to replace mine (same style as the ebay ones just an older tech version!),
this frame looks Very similar to the ebay ones, especially the seat/chainstay shape,
pretty sure it'll have a semi integrated headset btw.

Phoar! If I was a bit richer than very poor....
Any idea what travel forks they're designed for? I'd consider a frame to compliment my current hardtail and move components across for race days. Though not right away.0 -
thanks for the feedback guys, im so exited i keep weeing myself everytime i look at it
im not sure of the weight of the wheels as i havnt put them on digi scales yet, buy what i do know is when i pile all the components into one box and pick it up it doesnt weigh a lot!!
as for the forks the exotic rigids come in 42.5 and 44.5cm i have the 44.5 cm version which i bought as i was only originally going to respray my old frame (marin bobcat) and was advised that this length would best suit my old suspension forks which had 100mm travel.
the difference between the 2 lengths should be marginal so im told.
as i say im about 1 month away from the build and i personally can"t wait0 -

thanks man i sure hope so, the anticipation is killing me!!
i could also do with some suggestions on a decent set of pedals to go on the bike as ive decided not to keep the 5050xx in the picture, not only did they get a shocking review they weigh about as much as a moris minor!!0 -
Have you thought about going clipless? The M520's are cheap and bombproof

If not the Wellgo version of the DMR V12 is really good value for money0 -
19.5 lbs and goes like a bat outta hell !!!!

Those wheels look really good, shame they're comically expensive considering their weight!0
-
expensive if you pay full price for them yes, but i only paid £99 for both rims so its all good man.0
-
Except 717s are lighter and significantly cheaper still, and Stans rims are far lighter, and you can get a cheap build.
Don't look as good though.0
