Looking to buy a new road bike - thought I had the groups sorted until noticed the same bike with 6700 and SL groups for 400 Euro difference (6700 more expensive). Would appreciate if anyone could offer some explanation of the differecne and whether the cost is worth it. Looking for a bike (possible Wilier Mortirolo) for sportives and sprint tri's

Thanks in advance

6700 is the current model, sl was a variant of last years model. Main differences are redesigned shifters with hidden cable runs (but at the cost of slightly less crisp shifts) A redesigned chainset (lighter and looks similar to dura ace) and generally a few grams saved on other components.

If it was my money, for a 400euro difference, I would opt for the older sl. In my opinion the sl bits look better too as they are a dark metalic grey colour. I am building a bike up and have used sl parts but upgraded to 6700 levers as I got them cheap.
