I'm thinking of swapping my Carrera Fury Frame for an On-One 456. Not that there's anything wrong with the Fury, but just looking at all the 456s posted up in t'interspace lately, they look like beautiful bikes to ride.
That's the only trouble - I doubt there's anywhere I'd get a chance to try one out. But at the price I figure it's worth a go. I'm just interested in opinions on how people compare them to other hardtails?
In the past I've probably rode BMX more than I have MTB, and I really miss being able to throw the bike around and I even struggle with the basics, like manuals, on an MTB. They always feel so bulky and heavy. The geometry on the 456 looks perfect though. But is it? I know it's a personal thing but every bike rides in a certain way...
I'm also wondering if I'll have any probablems fitting stuff from the Fury, Recon forks, seatpost, brakes, BB, etc... Any ideas?

Compare the geometry to the Furies - any differences? There is no such thing as perfect geometry for all, only perfect for you. And even then you often have to compromise.
I would try and test one - swapping out a good frame for something that weighs a lot more that you might not like.... ;-)0 -
The 456 weighs more than the Fury? My Fury ain't light...
Gah, you're putting a downer on it....I'll have to trawl through all the specs now.
I've just got a good eye, and the 456 looks good.0 -
I don't know the exact weight of the Fury frame, but sure isn't 5.4lbs like a medium 456 frame. Should be at least a pound lighter.
The 456 is a tough, budget frame in steel. The Fury is a tough budget frame in aluminium. Ain't an upgrade, just different.0
