CUBE AMS 125 2009

cube_ams_125.jpg

what one would u pick?
Yes i know there probably for different things but lets face it it wont be that differnt !

So ok what is the difference? And what one is sweeter?

Would probably be the case that youd get better spec cube 125 for your money for the same price as a lower spec stereo so taking that also into considoration.[/img]

Just on visual looks, I prefer the Stereo.

As I don't really know too much about Cube bikes, I wont comment on handling, specs, etc...

it would depend on what my riding was going to be.

-if i was buying to ride where i currently live, id ride a 120mm type of bike
-if i was buying to ride at trail centres or rocky and more downwards orientated type terrain id buy something with 150mm travel which could pedal up the inevitable climbs.

if i was only buying one bike, i would probably buy the longer travel bike as it could do xc type stuf ok but the gravity type stuff awesomely (is that even a word?!) whereas the shorter bike will do the up hill better but probably not the downwards stuff so well and thats the stuff i enjoy most.
  • i would put a bid on this-

There's no deal on that bike, but read the question/answers....."...we do have an AMS Comp 2010 model at £1349 which includes £135 free accessories from the shop ."

There you go El_C, go for it!

what do u reckon the real diffrence is apart from the more travel ..

    both full sussers.
the suspension on the stereo is much better?

the more travel is the difference.

longer travel bikes tend to have slacker angles, heavier stronger builds and are more difficult to climb on.

shorter travel normally means steeper angles slightly less tough build and are less good at descending.

the simple maths of having 2 portions of suspension each doesnt make them the same bike at all.
  • i was wondering about them sayign its a 125 milof travel biek on the 125 ...

but that doesnt mean the suspension is speciifically for 125 it will prob be a 140 mill fork rammed in the space available set by cube making it 125 ya?

I started off liking the cube race ltd the cube comp then the cube pro then cube frittz and nwo cube stereo lol......... ARGH but im defo fallin for a stereo has that bad ass look to it .!

the travel of a bike refers to the travel at the back, it may well have longer forks but that dosnt change the fact, and im not going to say this again, that those are 2 completely different bikes

not really in my eyes there both full sussers made by cube

not as if ones a road biek or hybrid

so dont maek out there Completly different unless you can explain why

oooohhh, i see what you mean. my mistake.

they are both the same. either one will do a cracking job, if they ride as nicely as they look you will be very happy. there are loads of very happy cube riders on here.
  • That's right, all full suspension bikes are absolutely identical apart from the colour. Don't worry about trivial matters like the forks, brakes, wheels etc and pointless technical chat about travel, weight, intended use and so on.

So in this case, I'd recommend you buy the black one.

    Ok thanks bye.

I don't want to own a Cube anymore, you've ruined them for me.

I'm off to throw mine in the canal

check what i have written previously, i explained exactly the differences.

Mate, no need for the abuse, people are just trying to help... you did ask a question, and people have answered that question.

There is a dfference between the 2 frames.. you just need to look at them to notice the differences.. different shock positions for a start, which would change the way each ride/handle. As has been said, thats like saying a Specialized Epic is the Same as a Specialized Demo, just because they both have rear shocks ad are made by Spesh.

    2 different bikes, for 2 different jobs/disciplines.

Dude, take the advice, maybe even thank them for helping (or at least trying to!) The majority of people on here know what they're talking about.. but you've been told this before. :?

i've taken in all your threads and had a look for some bargains for you.
This for instance... has the same sort of suspension as both cubes and will be just as good, if not better.
It has great components : Suspension forks, bash guard and riser bars.....whats not to like?!
Its even got a funky colour scheme!
