Crank Spindle

How do I remove the spindle that the pedals are attached to and will I need a special tool to do this :?

    GJL, What you need to remove is your bottom bracket as this is usually what your cranks will be attached to in one of its' varying forms. There are different tools depending on the type od BB you have. Some cheap supermarket type objects have caged races in cups integral to the frame and a Z shaped one piece crank

    you want to remove your pedals from their axels?
    if so - what type of pedals?
