Morning All,
For me it has been a thoroughly sh!te morning so far. Woke up an hour early to get into work early with more time to finish an important project by lunchtime. Anyway, got up to see more fecking snow, but wasn't that bothered until I got into the garage to find I had a puncture that must have been a slow one from last night. Had a nightmare fannying about in the freezing garage getting the ridiculously tight tyre off the wheel (why does pinching you fingers hurt so much more when they're cold??) at this point I noted a dent in my rim which p1ssed me off further. Finally got the tyre off and found the tiniest hole in the tube. Fixed it quickly with a Park Tools patch (not used them before - the only good thing this morning). Then I went to pump up the tyre with my Crank Brothers pump, this is first time i've really used it from flat and I have to say it is the worst pump ever - took ages to pump up my tyre (yes I did try both pressure settings). Finally got on my way having not saved any time despite getting up early. On the way, I'm not sure if it was snow or salt from road, but something kept flicking in my eyes and stingy horribly, then my sealskin socks failed and filled up with freezing cold water. All in all the worst commute i've ever ridden.

How's everyone else's day going??

My day is a bit meh. The commute wasn't a problem, just can't be bothered doin anythin. And, after reading all the threads in the Crudcatcher, I really want a dog, a sky box and a tattoo as well. Oh well, only 6 hours left...It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

My day is also a bit meh, flying lesson cancelled and it is too damn cold and blizzard-esque outside to go out. May as well just read through navigation. Funtimes.0 -
Made it into the office at 10:30. There's a few of us in. Mostly those with 4WD cars/trucks. Weather is starting to 'improve' as in, it's stopped snowing. Forecast is for rain later, which should hopefully wash away the snow.
Got a few important things to do today, especially phoning the O2 shop to see if my new phone's arrived.0 -

Woke up late today, few days off work - self employed and it's very quiet - Jan always is.
So am having a brew, and trying to decide on a new cockpit for my Marin, fancying a EC90 carbon bar and EA90 stem (in place of the USE stuff, reckon I can shave a few grammes off the rig) elementry mathmatics for me this morning.
MAC: Yep, had the same thing with my CB pump, alright for topping up, but from flat they are shite - get a track pump, they make life easier all round - I recommend the Topeak Joe Blow0 -

Get a Syntace F99 stem with ti bolt kit0 -
-
The EA90 is 116 gr for the 100mm version
The Syntace is 126 gr for 100mm with standard bolts, even with Ti bolts not going to be lower surely??
Other option was the KCNC Scandium stem perhaps?0 -
WW has the Syntace far closer to the claimed 99g. A lot of them even closer to 90g.
Easton quite often come up a bit heavier than claimed also.
Not sure they do the KCNC in a 25.4?0 -

Yeah, got a track pump back at home and its great, but unfortunately was starting out from the girlfriend's house so only had what was in my pack...the CB pump will be going in the bin and I shall be researching the next one!Santa Cruz Chameleon

My day is also a bit meh. Still waiting for my ebay cam to arrive, now 33 days since I ordered that and the memory card. Made worse by the fact that most other people seem to get theirs in about 2 weeks or less.
Shed load of work to do today. No lunch because I've got to go chat up another potential client at lunch time too.
Currently very rainy and VERY windy outside.0 -

I always use OS bars, never 25.4's. Do you run standard bars then?0 -

I've got 31.8 on my road bike and my spare part bike (Ritchey carbon wcs stem ) but on the vast majority I'm 25.4
The weight you save on the KCNC over the Syntace (if any) you can add back on by going for the 31.8 EC90 over the standard version0 -
i still like 22.2 mm bars"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

If I did gop for the KCNC stem, I would go for the scandium bars as well (WOT? NO CARBON!!!) as they only weighs 134gr
226gr for the combo isn't too bad0 -
