Upgrade? wheels again

Hi was just gonna order some wheels for my commute bike on sonics suggestion when i got to thinking (bad thing to do) and thought maybe move wheels from mtb (xt hubs and 717 mavics) onto commute bike and treat best bike to a new set of hoops.
Or is this madness?
HELP talk me into or out of it

    That the trouble was only gonna spend 100 quid on a pair for commute bike which would have been fine, deore hubs mavic xm317 rims.
    But now thinking pimp mtb a little bit? may blow the budget lol
    what do you all suggest and dont tell the wife :oops:

    Ok the voice of reason speaks again thanks thats brought me back down to earth think i will stick with the ones i can afford :oops:
