Over tightened cleat bolts on lake winter boots

The bolts on one of my lake winter books will not tighten, looking closely at them it looks like they have been damaged probably by over tightening. It doesn't look like the plate is replaceable without seriously damaging the boot, anyone have any suggestions ?
Thanks

    replace the bolts!

Or have you stripped the threads in the plates?

If you've stripped the plates all you need to do is remove the insole of the shoe and the plates come out 8)
  • Stripped the thread in the plates it would seem, on 3 of the 4 bolts. I have taken out the insoles but there seems to be another sealed layer on the winter boot.

No its not a waterproof patch, they are completely sealed boots, it is like the inner of a ski boot except not removable i.e. stiched and glued to the main boot.
