What is your budget?0

as cheap as poss really but i know that cheap doesnt equal good , they are only going on a carrera subway so have not got to be great wheels or light just reliable say around the 100 quid mark?0

I'd go for some nice handbuilts from Merlin:

Deore hubs, 317 rims, ACI DB spokes - £93.0 -

I'd def use crc again for wheels.
If you want an uber cheap set, check out the wooly hat shop.0 -
Merlin are fully handbuilt - not machine built.0

It can do. Crc don't seem to know much about wheels looking at their terminology - pre stressed?!
The only way a machine built wheel can be as good as a handbuilt from a good builder is if time is taken afterwards by hand to correct the stuff the machine missed.0 -
It can do how?
Just because the guy writing the spiel for the website doesn't know what he's on about, doesn't mean the guy getting them made up doesn't have a clue!
I'd definately go to CRC for my wheels again..
They have more options, cheaper, free delivery and quick delivery....0 -

Given that CRC claim that wheels bed in doesn't lend much to their finishing process.0 -
Its all guessing and assumption though. Opinion without actually owning a set.....0

Erm, I have a set of CRC wheels, and Merlin wheels.0

The Merlin set was tighter spoked. And truer.
Don't get me wrong, they generally produce good wheels, and Merlin can produce bad ones - however as above, CRCs text does leave them wanting a bit, and I have to question how much hand finishing they do, given that some people have received sets with spokes missing. But could be one offs. I prefer fully hand built wheels from established builders.
But to say a machine built wheel is not noticably different from a (good) handbuilt is not true, as trueing and tensioning machines do not account for spoke twist (and usually are lower tensioned to stp this happening) and are not as accurate as the human eye and hand. Yet.0 -
Fair enough!
Was hard enough to get a proper reasoning from you
If i'm honest... CRC did build onto the wrong hub originally... they send a 12mm rear hub instead of 10mm which was quite annoying lol.
But I got them to rebuild, and I also got a DT RWS Skewer for the trouble.
I'm looking for wheels for the P7... Was going to use Merlin but they just don't have the variety of rims that CRC have0 -
Bottom line is if you are happy with what you have, stick with it ;-)
As you say, maybe CRC do have some top blokes who take the wheel and sort it out properly. It is confidence in what you are getting.0
