I am thinking about a new wheelset from nuke proof. The front hub is a 20mm bolt thru or 9mm conversion.Presumably a 9mm QR skewer will fit that to go on standard forks..?.

The rear QR hub according to nuke proof uses a 4mm skewer.I thought all "standard" QR's were 5mm...Hope etc.I must be missing something here (maybe a brain)

well a 9mm skewer will not fit a standard 9mm Qr axle.

rear skewers tends to be a standardish width.

so if your fork is a 20mm through axle or a standard 9mm drop-out and you have a normal Qr you will be fine.

  • do you mean a 9mm qr skewer will not slide through a 9mm adapter in a hub or will not fit a standard size drop-out in the fork....?

    there are different set ups.

there is the 9mm QR axle (the Qr is 9mm diameter axle)

there is the standard 9mm axle with Qr or nuts
then there are the through axles.20mm/15mm etc.

    what forks are you using?

the rears is std qr size.
  • Carbon rigid forks with drop outs and about a 1cm gap.
