Fury alternatives..

Hi,
Long story (HR cock up..) but I can’t now use Halfords as planned for my C2W scheme but can now use my LBSs. I have a £560 LoC that was going on a new Fury, plus a few bits, so I’m now looking for alternatives along those lines of bike.
My LBS offered me the below as alternatives and they all felt ok in the shop.
2009 Cinder Cone for £510
2009 Caldera for £600
2010 GT Avalanche 1 for £600
The Caldera seemed the pick and worth the extra for the better fork over the Cindercone (not sure on that green though) but maybe the GT is a closer match to the Fury.
Any suggestions ?. I’ve read the What Bike threads which are helpful. My LoC is an odd value so I might yet challenge it to get it changed based on sighing the contract with false info etc
Many thanks..

I have the Caldera and although I have not had much chance to ride it due to breaking my finger, the few times I have ridden it, I was really impressed. Its a good spec at the reduced price - and I like the green! My Website - Trail Centre info for the UK: MTB Trail Time0

Ask your shop for a blast around the block.0

I tried to do that and they refused point plank and said it would get dirty and would no longer be new...I even offered them a very pretty hostage as security. All they would let me do was ride up and down the shop aisle, which was a pretty pointless exercise.0 -
I'd tell them to sod off then, and go to a shop that cares about it's customers more. This is why we buy and pay more at the LBS, so we can try them out, even if it is just a short ride to get a feel for it.0

Evans let you test ride bikes if you have one near you.
Then you can buy from the shop your C2W scheme uses.My Website - Trail Centre info for the UK: MTB Trail Time0
