Some info from people that ride them would be aweosome!
Im coming from a Spesh Allez sport which got nicked, so looking for a significant upgrade from the frankly uncomfortable Sora shifters =D

Thanks in advance all!

  • Bianchi. Looks yummy.
  • BIANCHI. I own that bike, it's beautiful and rides superbly. I could only afford the Sora at the time but still I preferred it to the trek. It's a head turner. Going to upgrade the components this year for sure.
  • Bianchi, I own a Trek 1.5, and would take the Bianchi hands down (I didnt know much re bikes when I bought my trek!)

The Boardman has Rival, wins hands down imo.

    But it's a Boardman.
  • I do know the Bianchi Via Nirone and like it a lot. Never tried the Trek 1.5, but I do like many or most of their bikes! One thing, though, I don't like Sora.

If I had to make a decision, I'd say Trek seems to be better at upgradeability.

HOWEVER, at those prices, I'd be very strongly tempted at something like:

    CAAD9
    Kona Jake the Snake
    Merlin Malt 4

just got one I LIKE IT.
  • Thanks for the advice guys =)

Seeing as my insurance is capped at £700 for now (dont want to up it in case they get suspicious and remove it completely) thats the max I can spend... so unfortunately all suggestions are now out of my price range lol...

for about £600 after my student discount I can get a Boardman team Road with tiagra/105 then spend some on shoes and clothing

maybe next year if I look to upgrade, one of these will be in range once more!

Matt PM me and I'll point you in the direction of where I got my Bianchi with 20% off. It'll make the Via Nirone with 105 only £800.

what about a bianci for about 600 and then update the spec as and when.I think they use the same frame for quite a lot of their range.
  • Managing to afford the Bianchi now =D

will order in the next few days as soon as the insurance cheque clears!

Reckon if you post on the classified wanted section you should be able to update for resonable price
  • Or to put the cat amongst the pigeons look at this bike on wiggle, reduced form £1000 to £599 - We've just bought two!
  • I think I know the one you mean.. the Raleigh Avanti U6 Comp 2009...

been looking at that today and now conflicted between this and the Bianchi =P
