ok so cube have bumped there prices up by £500 for a 2010 model which is EXZACTLY the same as the 09 model . so there is not 2010 model at all.
im sickened by this. obviously they have the jan sales in mind so now they wont lose a penny in the sales as any reductions will just b from a overinflated 09 model.
DO THEY TAKE US FOR ******* MUGS?
changing my views on cube right now.

Without looking at the specs, they probably are the same. Cube prices went up loads last year, even the 09's were more expensive at the end of the year than they were a few months earlier. If you can get an 09 cheaper, do it0
-
im trying man seems like i cant
seems unfair0 -
It's been pretty common amongst most manufacturers this year unfortunately and because Cubes were especially good value in early 09 the 'correction' seems to be that much more severe
The 09's have probably been snapped up when people saw this coming.0 -
I still cant get over this and to be honest i cant see how the watchdog ( if thre is such a thing) can allow a manufacturor to say this is a 2010 model wen there is no difference but sayings its now worth 500 pound more........
:x im lost and dont know what im going to do now
how can they do this?0 -

Simple mate. Manufacturing costs, the weak pound, VAT increases, quite simply the items cost more to make, import and pay tax on.
It's not like CUBE are the only Mf'r doing it, all of them are charging more for all of their bikes (apart from 08/09 sale bikes).
The economy in the UK is garbage, all spare from Shimano/SRAM/whoever have gone up in price, therefore the cost is passed onto the consumer.
I guess your only option is to get a slightly different model in an 09, getting the better spec even if paying more.
I saw a CUBE Stereo reduced from £2009 to about £1500 but god knows where i'm afraid, i've looked at most places i can recall. I'll find it in a bit though.Salsa Spearfish 29er

my point exzactly the cube IS the 09 sale bike there just making out its a 2010
and adding 500 to the price.
am i wrong?
is THAT wrong i think so.0 -
The RRP of the 2009 is £1700 as far as I canb see, unless I am looking at the wrong model.0

2009 - £1350

same bike .. maybe they put a different coloured bolt on worth 500 pound0 -
Where does it say the RRP is £1350?0
-
sorry this is the 125 .09

the other one was the pro (100)0 -
You are a bit off the mark.
They are different... check the brakes for one. They don't make k18's anymore.
Secondly the rear shock is a Boost Valve model and different to last years model as a consequence.
In any case the rrp of the 09 was £1699 so you need to consider that in your argument.
To claim deception is also a bit unfair. In fact Cube are one of the most transparent and upfront companies you could have the pleasure of dealing with.
Prices change year on year that are due to factors beyond manufacturers control - to claim they are trying to rip you off in some way is both a little rude and incorrect.0 -
cool.0
-
I don't see a scam lol - I see two slightly different bikes with £150 in the RRP!0
-
ok how about u change they brakes n give me a 09 for 1350 ?0
-
Some 09s have Rockshox Revelation U turns too.
What CRC sell at is nothing to do with Cube. Most sell older models, regardless of what it is, for less.0 -
so they swop a few bits around for the same value and call it an 2010.
fair does0 -
if u could leave they 09s alone
lol

Thats what happens with all bikes... what are you expecting?
There are only so many components available to a manufacturer at certain prices - they cant magically give you an XTR crankset on 2010 when you got an SLX on 2009.
You are being a little unrealistic in your expectations.0 -
well im still deciding what biek im getting but im no mug.
see you later people.
ill keep searching0 -
Given that groupsets and parts don't update from manufacturers every year (often 3 or 4 with Shimano groupsets and similar with hubs, seatposts, rims, bars etc) then again, perfectly normal. It is only shocks and forks that we see updated year on year, and maybe tweaks to frames with wholesale changes every few years.
£150 on the RRP for brand new brakes and improved rear shocks is not bad compared to others!0 -

You are going to find the same, or worse, with all 2010 models.0 -
Good luck in your search.
You will regret passing over the Cube, if you consider them poor value then you haven't seen that many other bikes. They are consistently one of the best brands year on year at any point in the market.
Have fun though and have a good xmas period.0 -
find me a 09 that hasnt been converted into a 2010 ill be happy lol
and 500 better off .
later man take it easy0 -
That is what sales do! They make new stuff look comparitvely worse value.
GT Sensor is a brand new frame for 2010.0 -
soooo these brakes are worth 500 more?
hehe
When cube claim to have a 2010 model worth 500 more than the 2009 i expect to see a new frame not just new brakes . infact this is a marketing ploy because they do have a new frame out .
but obviously want to get rid of all there 09 frame stock first . falsly claming its an 2010.
im MY eyes that dam right cheeky.
and i dont give a shit if they are desperate for money off us so sum fat cat can lat in his million dollar apartment like a sack of shiiiiiiiiiit.
ooo booy i cant wait to get a new bike0 -
Cube are NOT claiming £500 more! It is £150 more.0
-
Actually, is just £100
RRP of £1700 vs £18000 -
im going to bed ...... mayeb ill find a cube ams 125 near 1350 tomorrow .. after all the "sales" have just started.
or in cubes eyes the "scam" haha
could u imagein the 09 at a discounted sale price? naaaa there out of stock son .. but hey u can have a 2010 with different brakes for 500 more in the SALE!we might even knock off 100 pound ! oh thanks mr SALES MAN :x
nice try
maybe a 2009 sumwhere!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! wooooooo lol
ill keep hunting LOL0
