Would you consider this GT Aggressor XC3 09 a worthy XC entry level bike?

It going really cheap and considering the price of £300, hydraulic brakes are a plus. What is your opinion? Will this thing be able to withstand a 6'2 guy interesting in active XC riding?

Any ideas guys? It only costs £299 quid. It sounds like a worthy investment

  • I would say the framewould deffinately take it, Gt make very good frames. Not bad forks and brakes for the money either. There could be some better deals out there though, what about second hand? But be carefull if you go second hand there are many things to look out for.

I am sure someone will come and tell you more

I tried to see for other deals. I checked past posts talking about GT Agressors XC3, and they recommended Trek 4300, Mongoose and a few other,s but so far only Trek and XC3 gives you hydraulics. When comparing other bits and bobs, they are better on XC then the ones on Trek. So far i am solid on this choice. Anyone else has an opinion?

Cable discs and v-brakes aren't so bad and at this price point, other components will have been sacrificed to pay for the Tektros. Don't get me wrong the XC3 is a reasonable example of a £300 bike but it was never worth £450.

Definitely not worth the 450. Its hard for me to judge on the trade-off between parts, that's why i'm here asking :)

£300 is a nice price for that bike.

another item worth looking. Slightly more expensive, but it seems to have better price to quality ratio.

last pick of the round :) Does this £200 beast is worth the hassle of bringing it from Reading instead of buying GT from local Halfords shop?

  • its less than £300 theres 10% of all GT's if you buy online at halfords! so its £270. small difference but better than a kcik in the face!

Listen to me, bloody salesman here! should be on Halfrods payroll

I'll do it for £185 as i'm picking up my new bike tomorrow. (so your fuel is free to collect).

I fitted the new front wheel today after top service from CRC bringing me a brand spanking new one :)

Surely for an extra few quid this would be a better bike,

But available only in Small size, or 16.5".
If that's not a probelm, then it is a better buy.
