Hi there,

Can someone please confirm that If I can get my hands on a set of planet x pro carbon wheels with a shimano free hub then its a simple case of just purchasing a replacement freehub from planet x for a campag model and then i can simple swap it over and run hassle free?

Cheers,

Dru.

Yes - depends on the model of hub as to availability
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • I asked this question when I bought my Planet X carbons as I was undecided whether I was going Campagnolo or staying with Shimano.
I was told that the wheel may need to be re-dished?? something to do with width of Campag cassette??

Anyway, if it is just a case of swapping freehubs then be rest assured that it'a a piece of the preverbial p1ss. Just remove cassette, undo the end of the axle with a 5mm hex key, slide off the freehub, slide on a new one, replace axle end.

Did you not try a normal Shimano first? I run a 105 cassette on my Turbo wheel which indexes perfectly with campag.

A shimano cassette would be lighter and give more options.

yep, the indexing was crap tbh! Maybe 8 out of 10 were ok, one skipped and one was missed completely.

not bothered about a few extra grams and 12-25 is fine with a compact.
