Buying a £300 budget bike - advice please

I haven't really cycled in a long time, but I'm looking to start again. I'll be using cycling on a combination of roads and trails, could do with some advice as to what I should go for with the money.
I want it to be good enough so I don't get frustrated, but I want to keep the price as low as possible (£300 is a max).
I've done a fair bit of reading and searching around this forum, and I have narrowed myself down to the following bikes. Any advice much appreciated.
Decathlon Rockrider 5.3 (£299 Mechanical Disc)
Specialized Hardrock (£299 V Brakes)
Carrera Vengeance Disc (£299 Hydraulic Disc)
Carrera Vengeance Race (£199 V Brakes)
Carrera Vulcan Disc (£279 Mechanical Disc)
GT Aggressor XC 3 (£299 Hydraulic Disc)
As you've probably worked out, I'm pretty confused!
Thanks for your help

Hi and welcome.
We have a thread called What Bike which shows common options, and in the Beginner's forum also a guide on new and budget bikes ie what features to look for.
The standout bike specwise there is the Decathlon Rockrider 5.3. Not only is it the lightest, with a decent frame, it has the best fork and drivetrain.
I would visit the shop and try one for size.
The Vulcans are good too, while the Vengeance is good value with the brakes but has a very heavy fork.0
