Well my birthday has arrived yet again...44 bl@@dy hell
Well I've just opened my cards and there's £190.00 on cash there
And I have the day off work 8)
Lets go shopping.
Bike
LS Baselayer
Compact Wet Weather jacket ( for those will it /won't it days)
New clear cycling lenses for night riding (wish my cycling buddy would get mudguards)
Non Bike
More RAM for PC
Assassins Creed II
And I'm over this lurgy I've had so I can get back on my bike and get some miles in. Mind you I lost 2lb last week though it wasn't pleasant

Happy Birthday, have a great day !!0

just got a merino ls baselayer in TK Maxx for £20 and a bamboo one for £15. Can't tell you how well they work cos I have just contracted the lurgy which seems to have rendered my lungs useless, so likely off the bike for a week or so.
Subscribe to Cycling Plus like I did and get a free Altura jacket and beanie hat

I too am hoping for some shrinkage with the bamboo top. Started off with a medium but took it back because it didn't come with poles / pegs / groundsheet, now have it in small but the arms would still suit an orang-utan.
Was glad to read that it's panda friendly!0 -
Glad you had a good birthday Flasheart. You're never too old to enjoy them, especially when you can go and buy some cycle kit!
For my 45th birthday I bought a lovely new Raleigh 531 Strada....well, it was 20 years ago. This year I bought another new bike, (last of the big spenders eh?), a Cannondale Carbon Synapse 105. So this thing about being 'old' is just a myth. As long as you can still get your leg over, (a crossbar), you are ageless.0 -
Yes, happy Birthday, hope you had a good one. Looking forward to mine in a couple of weeks, I'll be 49, so you are not old!! I've been dropping hints to the family as to what to get me,track pump, lights, gloves etc0

Happy birthday
Hope the wabbit is ok0 -
...is 'take a wabbit to the vet' a euphanism for something that has passed me by...?
...or did you really take a rabbit to a vet?Cycling weakly0 -
Nope, is a real wabbit, I have 3 in fact. Hunny, Kandi and Gizmo and 2 guinea pigs Womble and Fidget. I find them really good for de-stressing. If I get wound up or I have a crappy day at work I go and grab a rabbit for a cuddle & play.
It's a freakin' menagerie I tells ya
And Kandi is okay ta.
Birthday was okay. Shame my Mrs is so busy with work she could only spare me a few hours for the day even if it was my Birthday. She was still sewing at 10.00pm last night. She's self employed and always has been. Still, in this economic climate, you have to take the work while it's there, especially with Christmas upon us again
I still have some ££ left so I was thinking of getting another Fenix L2D as I had planned, and since my game is still 2 months off and I was given a £40 Gamestation Voucher yesterday too, I think I can justify another bike light
I've been off the bike for a week due to the virus I had but I'm over that now so I'm hoping to get out for a ride tonight weather permittingThe universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle. ...Stapp’s Ironical Paradox Law

Hi Legshaver
Greetings from another "mature" rider (I'm 55). Just wondering how you rate the Synapse Carbon 105 as this is on my shortlist of new bikes. Need something that wont be too hard on my old bones! Current road bike is a 2008 Scott Speedster S60 which was all I could afford when I decided to get back in the saddle 2 years ago. I also still regularly ride my 21 year old Raleigh Pioneer Spirit hybrid.0 -
I can't believe a 44 year old is still getting Birthday money in their cards!
Have a good un!0 -

Well the Mrs said that whatever she'd buy me it would be the wrong thing so she figured ££ was a better option so I could buy exactly what I wanted and her Mum & sister followed suit.
Lets face it. Last year I wanted a road bike for Birthday / Xmas ..she bought me handmade silver cufflinks and a tie clip.....go figure :roll:The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle. ...Stapp’s Ironical Paradox Law
