Shimano dual controll gear cable removal.

Hi all,
My other half has some old Shimano XT dual control brake levers on her bike and I've just managed to persuade her to ditch them for some seperate XT brakes and shifters.
Looking at them I can't figure out how to get into them to remove the gear cables so I can swap the shifters over. It's probably a simple procedure however if anyone has the know how or a link to a 'how to' I'd be greatful.

replace the cables as well.
there are two screws to remove to take a cover off.
it is in the downloadable manual."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Thanks Nick, the cables are a new set of XTR's put on not long ago by LBS so they should be fine.Niner Air 9 Rigid
