Commencal Super 4.2 Seizing - Rider Error?!?

Hi, I bought a 2009 Super 4.2 less than 6 months ago and have trouble with the gears seizing when going up steep hills. I have been informed by the company who sold me the bike that it is chain suck and the problem exists when selecting gears on the smallest ring and in the lower half of the cassette and that this is commonly recognised as being poor practice.
As the chain seizes abruptly I feel a little short changed as I have now had 4 services, 2gear cables and a rear derailleur pully fitted and the problem still exists. I'm not built like Chris Hoy and need to use these gears when off road and when going up-hill, after all it is a mountain bike!
Has anyone had the same problem or can anyone offer any suggestions. Thanks

You only need to use the three largest cogs whilst in the granny ring at most, otherwise you are just duplicating gears with the middle ring. Now where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"0

By the "lower half of the cassette", do you mean the small (higher) gears?
If so, you can get the same ratio by using the middle ring on the front, and a bigger gear at the back.
E.g Small at the front, and small at the back could be 22 teeth/11 teeth= a ratio of 2
If you've got a middle ring on the front with 32 teeth you can get the same ratio by using the 16 tooth cog (somewhere near the middle) on the back.
Also, look at the chainline when you are in the Small/Small combo, the chain will be twisting from near the bike at the front, to away from the bike at the back.
Have a read of this http://www.sheldonbrown.com/gears.html0
