Looks as if one of the UK's largest Motorsports part suppliers has just branched out into cycling. They're opening a new cycling showroom at the shop in Wrexham on Thurday this week. www.tweekscycles.com :D

    Awesome!

I noticed in their Superbike mag that they'd started selling Fox clothing which is a bit of a departure for them too.

Yep been in the pipeline for a while, should be a good setup with the people they have had on it.

So Dimtwits are selling bikes now. No doubt they'll be charging the same exorbitant prices they do in their Motorsports Dept.

Bought a lot of car related race stuff from them in the past, though expensive at times there is always a bargain to be had somewhere...as everywhere :)

There is view held by some that DT are expensive. Their prices are firm and they are the biggest mail order supplier in the world so I guess they don't feel the need to discount as a matter of routine. As a business owner that is a good position to be in.

If you develop a good relationship with them discount is available ;)

I am sure they are aiming high with this venture and I know the local bike shops are a little concerned.

If you think about it there is a good crossover with their motorsport customers as most of them have fitness as part of their motorsport routine so I am sure they are looking to use there considerable existing customer information to that aim.

    Just got back from there.

They are still setting up but have all the bases covered in terms of gear and some lovely bikes; there is an awesome Eddy M carbon frame on display :) . They have taken the large space that used to be occupied by the motorbike section.

The staff are bike guys recruited in for the shop so they have good knowledge and experience.

More and more stock coming in over the coming weeks I am told and website soon.

    Spent more than I intended :P ;)

BTW it occured to me on the way back it might look to some like I work for them!!! :D

I don't, I just live/work 10 mins away and know the business through my work on a race team, Tech 9 Motorsport.

Definately it is setup for bikers. They should prob add a bike stand outside mind.

As I say it's not staffed by motorsprts team. I am sure they would welcome some group visits if someone approached them.

Demon Tweeks are so expensive for car parts and i can imagine they will be the same with the bike gear  Loads of great mtb shops on the net now that they will have to be really competitive with prices to keep up. Time will tell.
