Jumbo for standard sized allu chainstays. They come up small. Measure around the fattest part of the chainstay, if its 8.5cm or under you ll defo need a jumbo0

thanks cheese0

Just measured and it is 9 cm round the chain stay, so what size would that require0

Is it a 'shaped' chainstay or straight, if straight a jumbo will be fine, mine has some crazy hydroformed bends so it was a bit tricky0 -
it's square tube...with a curved bit on the inside around the tyre area.0

Jumbo will be fine, super jumbo will swamp it... takes a while to get it on properly but they do stretch..... that bike tape looks like a good alternative though....0 -

Its great, i have it on my blur and my malt. Much prefer it to Lizard skins style protectors.0 -
Bike tape looks like the best thing to do....But the insanity of vanity is drawing me to the nice brightly coloured lizards.0

I know, I just bought an electric blue one to match my frame :oops:0 -
The jumbo says it is 85mm wide the circumference of my chain-stay is 90mm, so don't I need the 128mm super jumbo or are the sizes actually wider than stated.0

Put it this way, my chainstay is 86mm, and it fits great, you could easily stretch it out another 4mm. Otherwise you'll have 38mm excess and it will keep spinning around on your chainstay and encourage shite and grime to get underneath.0 -
Another alternative is to buy some colour coordinated roadbar tape and use that...... 8)0

Jumbo it is then....thanks for you help mate, Much appreciated.0

The jumbo arrived and there is now way this will fit, tried stretching it but wont stay shut under that much strain, so need to send it back and exchange for the super jumbo0

Thats strange. mine is defo 8.5cm and theres room for stretch. If your's is 9cm, unless thay can't guarantee 'exact' sizes...... sorry dude, really though it would fit...
I had a super sumbo on my Marin Quake which had a swingarm!!!! :shock:0 -
No worries mate....I'm going to try it on sons GT and see if it fits that, the kraken has a square frames on the chain stay part so harder to stretch round the right angles.0

eh? what's wrong with good old innertube?0
