Bar end shifters - will they fit my add-on aerobars?
I'm thinking to build a bit of a parts-bin-special TT bike.
I have some spare mid-90s aero-bar extensions, the adjustable type that clamp under standard handlebars with separate armrests. I'm thinking to run these with some bullhorn / wing bars, and would like to use bar-end shifters fitted to the ends of the aero-bars.
Question is, the internal diameter of the aerobars is slightly smaller than a spare set of standard handlebars I have, ~19mm ID compared to ~21mm. I can't find anywhere any info on what minimum size bars the shifters will fit....
It's been suggested that you could file down the plug to make it fit, anyone tried this?
Can anyone help to confirm this? I'd rather not spend £50 on the shifters to find that they're 1mm too big for the bars!!!
Cheers,
Richard.

It'll probably be a squeeze - there's no reason you could take a mm or so off the diameter of the expander plug to make them fitMake mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
