The previous Idol - must that it was a lovely looking bike - didn't have a reputation for being a smooth ride and looking at those tube junctions, looks like it won't be on my lust-list either. And I'm still trying to work out the acronym for TESCO...Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

I wasn't impressed with the previous Idol which I did ride, was far too cushioned for me. Far too dampened for my style of riding. It was smooth of course but most carbon frames of this standard are. They don't like much different with this new model, but I'm sure it's more expensive of course.
A ride on the Wilier Cento Uno confirmed for me the far better ride. I like to feel the road I'm riding on for one thing. I wouldn't buy an Idol.0 -
Yeah, I'm not sold on the new Idol. I see it at the London bike show this year. I prefer the old Idol, which I once owned. If I bought a De Rosa now, then I would go for the KIng RS0

Is the downtube made of bits of Lockheed Hercules fuselage?0

that crap your smoking is playing with your mind you may think your funny but frank may disagree,go and have words with him and yourself and find your way back to normaliity.
or just give me a nod as you ride by on your bike from halfords and i will leave you in a hedge0 -
It doesn't look very aero dynamic does it? But I'm sure they thought of that.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

Personally think it's hideous but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that!0

To me it's not really how something looks but how it feels. The handling and how the bike responds is the most important thing to me when looking for a new bike. I wouldn't care what name is on the tubing, and the big names don't impress me without a test ride.
The Idol was one such bike.0 -

It is pig ugly, and I am sober and lucid.
I'm less lucid after having to look at it. That will date more than a Zimbabwean dollar.
And my bike is so far from Halfords it is untrue. I think being "funny" is not respecting others having a view, and your narcissism is sad. Are you sure you are always right?
If we end up in a hedge, my titanium frame will be undamaged, and your carbon monstrosity will most likely look better after a few lumps of its engorged structure are left in the ditch.
You can't buy style, my man.0 -
At last you spoke english.i valued that at lot more than the dribble you spouted out earlier thanks for your input.Although it aint my frame its De rosa,s frame
If you read back im going to settle for a connondale or a scott
not sure as yet as im going to test ride a few first before i seetle on anything.0 -
Before, I was too overcome with emotion to speak.
I have compsed myself.
(as for the "yours" bit, I was taking some dramatic liberty, for comic effect)0 -
I like it.0

well if anything ive got a few opinions from peaple regarding de rosa,s new idol frame.now every one has there own taste and style and like previously mentioned somewhere "no one is right or wrong."
personally i think its quite different from the norm and its sort of thinking out of the box.clearly making a statement.wether that suits you as an individual is entirely up to you and your wallet.I wont be buying one myself but i think its quite a modern style.0
