exposure lights- appalling delivery

I would advise anyone against ordering exposure lights where they are not in stock at the retailer - I ordered 2 joysticks from UK Bike store on the 27th October and have had nothing but broken promises ever since regarding delivery

They were showing as next day despatch ( not in stock but due to arrive on the 28th ) then changed to 2nd Nov despatch. Latest story was that the shipment arrived at the retaileron the 9th ( a week late ) but no joysticks were included- by mistake allegedly, and were to follow on wednesday for immediate despatch to me thursday. Guess what- still no lights- an utter fecking shambles. Have e-mailed exposure themselves who only say " we expect to send a shipment next week" without revealing why they constanly fail to meet delivery deadlines. I'm going to ring UK bikestore and cancel my order, and buy some lights from somewhere that actually has them in stock :(

    Carrock,

The title of the thread is a bit misleading (even if you did go on to mention the name of the
    company you're having problems with).
Perhaps it would have better to mention the
name of the company first, then the fact that they let you down.

On the two occassions I've ordered Exposure Lights, the most recent being July of this year,
I didn't have a problem, and experienced prompt delivery. The other occassion was in 2005
from Wiggle, no problems then either. I have also found Exposure's customer service to be
    very good too.

I've now changed the order to exposure diablos, which the retailer has instock, and are being sent out special saturday delivery at no cost to me

The point I am making is that, if the goods are not in stock, the retailer is wholly dependent on the manufacturer actually supplying the things- something which exposure don't seem very good at

So now you've given Exposure lights more money ?

    Yeah that'll teach them.

£198 for a P7 torch with some bells and whistles.

yes- I agree with the rather flippant comment that £200 seems a lot for a P7 torch with bells and whistles- however

The cheaper P7 torches are, as far as I know, unregulated- which means the beam dims after half an hour or so, apparently.

Not sure of any guarantee, and if so would be return to base warranty, ie send back to hong kong, or in reality, junk it and buy another one

    Watertightness may be an issue

    On the other hand

Exposure lights have a lifetime gurantee on the LED lights, 2 years on switch and case

Come with intuitive charger, multi mode beam and flashing options, get you home feature which dims the light over 3 hours when low

Up to 24 hours battery life on low

smart port feature to plug in batteries and addtional lights

    and so on

Like almost any other product, some people will seek out the cheapest option, some will seek the best quality at a price- no right and wrongs, just personal choice

Coming soon- a comparison of an Audi R8 with a Lada Riva- why the Lada gets me from A to B just as well.......

All may well be valid points mate. But for £25 surely (as I said before) it's worth getting one yourself and trying the P7 touch out? Even if you don't like it, and don't want to put it on your bike, it will be good for round the home. Or shock horror - £25 down the drain! The amount some folk spend not only on lights but all sorts of bike gear, it truely is a no brainer to try one out!

    Well said IMO
although I doubt the P7 evangelists will agree. But I suppose a £70 Lidl bike is just the same as a £5k Specialized S-Works in reality?

By the way I received my 'Toro light from Wiggle no problems at all and have also found contacting Exposure directly to be easy and helpful.

I've had my p7 since last winter - not noticed any dimming during rides ?

And not had any problems with water - I don't think it would work underwater - but its been fine for crappy rainy rides thus far.

My charger went on the blink - so I phoned Exposure yesterday afternoon.......

This morning, less than12 hours later I have a replacement and a paid envelope to return the duff one.

Impressive service as far as I am concerned.

My P7s don't dim either - and no problems with water so far either - been running one since last year so plenty of time to evaluate it. The run time is about 80-90 minutes on full whack and it's easy to carry spare batteries which can be changed in about 30 seconds. Plus they are so cheap I bought two so if something does go wrong I have a decent back up. I prefer the lockblock to the Exposure mount too.

Undeniably the Exposure has some advantages but the P7 torches are great lights not just great lights for the money.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.
