Ordered my new bike today

The Boardman Team Carbon Limited Edition - I will get it in January when my C2W voucher comes through.

My office scheme is tied to halfords, so that limited the choice a fair bit. Think it's probably the best bike available at halfords at that price point (£999).

Are you aware that you can order pretty much any bike through Halfords, not just what they stock? You just need to call their special order line and ask if they can get the bike for you. I had the same choice, but I too have opted for the Ltd Ed Team Carbon as I think it's the best bike for £1000 about at the monent. Only my opinion though.
Just in case you didn't know and there was another make of bike you wanted.

I considered getting the same bike for £1000 under the C2W, as its just works out so damm cheap might as well.

Though I would lokve to know if you could order a Planet-X under the scheme, or the £1000 Carbon Viner that Epic stock.

Planet X was one of the makes that couldn't be ordered. Used to be able to get them, but one company or the other pissed the other off and no longer deal with each other. There were a few other makes not available, but I found Halfords very quick to respond to my questions. They will let you know of local suppliers if a particular supplier is too far away ( I asked about trek and gave me 2 suppliers close to me as trek do not allow their bikes to be couriered)

When I spoke to Epic they said that Viner are no longer producing the Gladius.

Looked a lovely bike? are they going to replace it with another carbon for £1k?

cheers m8 - I was aware of the fact that Halfords can source other bikes for you. I had looked at planet x but they no longer deal with Halfords. Considered the viner gladius as well, which was available from halfords but might not now be if those posting above are correct.

Also looked at an Orbea onix vuelta but Halfords couldn't source that for me either. Figured the boardman was the best f the bikes I looked at that Halfords could actually get!

Looks like the Dolan Mythos is now the only other 1k Carbon Road bike available from Halfords C2W.
1k would also get you a Tiagra CAAD9 in alu, great frame but doesn't look the best value.

Not sure I just had this "Unfortunately we only have one 56cm Gladius left now, and this model is not running again in 2010."

They didn't mention an alternative to replace it. I didn't go up to Epic in the end as my other alternatives were available locally. There may still be a few Viner's lying around at other shops though - there were some Swedish team replica ones on ebay recently.
