Helmets never really look cool anyway.
I've got a Met Kaoss, which doesn't look too bad, and my riding buddy's got a Fox Flux, which also looks decent.

Best to try some on really, as it's useless buyng a helmet without trying it on for for fit anyway.

One of the trail lids like a Xen or a Flux should do it. Some people look better with their helmets on whistling.gif

fox flux is easily one of the best for not looking too mushroom.
either that or you need to get a fatter face lol

I think I look like a tit know matter what helmet I wear, they always seem to look better on somebody else.
It's not a ornament, so ride It
  • Ive got a fat face!!!! and a o8 fox flux lid the only way I get it to look any good is when I am wearing my Oakley Racing Jackets!!

All the lids I have owned make me look like a mushroom head!!!!!
  • Tell me about it.

Am on a mission to find the elusive non- mushroom helmet myself but am fast coming to the conclusion I my head is just the wrong shape for any of them.

  • Not possible, especially if your head is 63cm like mine (XL in terms of helmets) I tried loads and just faced the fact so went for the one that fitted the best, now I may look a twit but at least I'm comfortable!

I have th problem that no hlemet ever looks good on me, fact! but some helmets do help, i have a Xen and it helps, the flux is good too, and i always think the met kaaos looks good, esp the ultimatum, but it is £135........ giro hex is a good looker too, and that is pretty cheap...

I have a "normal" Met Kaoss, not the ultimalite one.
Can't seem to find them on any online retailer though. Have they stopped making them?

    THE Industries F14.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

I'd add the Giro Hex and Bell Variant to that list.

I wear a fox flux which is great for protection and doesn't look like a shroom. saying that i do have a pea sized head so it looks a bit on the big side.
whatever you go for I would reccomend trying it to see there is no spike, spoiler or vertical ridge sticking out of the back. companies like MET do it to look good however if you crash, knock yourself out and are flat on your back a ridge or point will act like a pivot to snap your neck.
Try wearing one while on your back and see!
does my tail look hard in this?

I have one in white, looks great.

I disagree that helmets dont look cool, We've come a long way from the so called mushroom helmets of the past...

obviously the easiest way to look cool is a full face but it's not always appropriate

I do too, but you might look like a bit of a twit wearing a full face for light XC!
  • ive got a big head and although my helmet is a fairly good looking one (specialized tactic, in black) i had to get a big one and the big ones look rediculous but if it saves me life, then it shall be worn
    It`s changed a bit since...
