My shifters have started to squeek, when you push the big paddle esp, it sounds like the plastic in the shifter squeeking. the shifter is a 09 deore. would simoly giving it a spray of tf2 be enough? or should i strip it and grease the insides....

dont strip it unkess you have a few hours to put it back together again
  • something a little heavier than tf2, you got any lightweight chain lube? My preference is white lightning epic for shifters, really light, but that or any good dry lube will work well.

Pop the cables out of the stops to give you a bit of slack (push the big paddle to shift in whatever gear it reaches in the limit of big paddle movement, then without letting the chain shift, push the small paddle to give you some slack to work with)

then a couple of drops into the shifter through the housing hole.

are you sure it's not the lever rubbing on the brake lever clamp?
