New Bike?

Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a new bike. I would like:
A carbon frame.
105 or Ultegra groupset.
And maybe a 50-34 front chainring (compact). I have always used a 53-39 and am ok with it, but I do some really steep hills and would like something a tad easier.
Any advice as to where to start? I have seen the Planet X bikes -they offer all the above for 1K.
I mostly mountain bike so not really clued up where to look.

The Planet X is a good deal.
Ribble may be able to match, if they have frames in stock...Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0
