rip in sidewall of tyre

I have a fairly new tyre which has a 1.5cm rip in the sidewall. I was going to glue a patch on the inside of the tyre. Anyone tried this and what did you use?

But it is not a permanent fix, new tyre needed soon.

had a 1cm tear in my racing ralph rear last winter. Just stuck a patch over it and its still going strong

Just keep checking now and again that its still stuck in place and you'l be fine.
