boating / yachting / whatever it's called when you float on water in a tub and have to move out the way when the wind hits the sails otherwise that arm thing floors you and sends you into the water. .....but looking at the weather. I might well postpone with these gusts and do something else instead

    I'm pretty boring this weekend...

I've gotta get my car on the ramps at work, to e-metal (synthetic 2 part metal mix) my rusted sills up, so it passes it's MOT in a few days...

Also, if I've got time / can be bothered, I gotta get my MX bike wheels and chain stripped down, and re-greased. Sand wreaks havoc in bearings, so am gonna have to dig it out a bit.

Then, on Sunday, I'm breaking up with my GF of 2 and half years... :? Oh well, been waiting for the right time, so now or never, I guess... Is it bad that I just don't love her anymore...?

I had plans to ride the peaks with work mates on the saturday, though due to a very daft decision on my commute to work yesterday I hurt my shoulder quite badly and might be taking a trip to A&E at the weekend instead (unless the pain when I breathe subsides and I get the movement back in my shoulder before then)

    happy days :D

    LOL!

I doubt that'll work, somehow. I have a feeling she might accuse me of cheating on her with a girl who I'm friendly with. I honestly have not, however. So she'll be getting some abuse of my (soon to be ex) GF... I've already apologised in advance! Lol.

Now, just gotta think what to say... Hmmm... Don't wanna hurt her feelings anymore than I can help. It's not gonna be easy - my parents are friends with hers too. Grrr... Oh, and my Mum thinks she's an actual angel. She probably loves her more than me!!

So, if my GF doesn't shoot / stab / castrate / throw me out the 2nd floor window, then my Mum undoubtedly will....

    Hahaa! C'est la vie...

No, thankfully not, so it's not THAT difficult... I think she wanted to buy a house with her next year (after her 5 years at uni studying medicine...).

And yeah, maybe it's not the wisest descision of my life, dumping an incredilby smart, sexy, clever woman, who is going to finish her degree and become a very good doctor...

Ahh well. Can't help not loving her anymore, I guess....

  • just say to her ive had mixed feelings over us as i am going to be away alot of the time now and you will barely get to see me and i think you have the right to get another guy who can be there for you when you get home every night, and if we raise a family it will be hectic and i feel i need ome one who will be able to understand that a little bit more because i know it will eat you up inside when the kids wont see me or months at a time.

    some shiz like that

No need to put a nail in the coffin. Take time out and do it amicably, you never know what happens after that.

Yeah man, that was pretty much what I was going to say. I only live about 60 miles away, but it's an hour and half to get to her place.

BUT... I'm going to be away, almost solidly for the next 14 months... It's not fair on her, and it's not fair on me.

And kids...!! You think I'm mental? I told her in so many words, that I NEVER wanted kids, and I absoultely was not going to marry her... Needless to say, she wasn't very impressed with me that day...

Plenty more fish in the sea though!

    +1

no need to be as radical as FCJ intimates.

Might be time to say time out is a good idea. I am guessing you and the missus are young bucks so i am sure she ll be "spirited" when you tell her.

Time apart is probably good, and will probably give you both the opportunity to understand what you both potentially miss about one another.

Besides, if saves on medical bills for you if you do it amicably. lol

And I assume you are talking in reference to my post... (If not, then  )

I don't intend on being a dick, and I really really hope she wants to break up with me (giult free then! :P) but in reality, she won't. However, I want to do it as grown-up as possible, no sharp comments and all.

And I can guarentee I won't be getting back with her... Although, as a docotor, she will have access to my medical records, so God forbid if I ever go in for treatment where she is staying!

Can I just say, that I'm seeing her on Sunday, for the first time in 3 and half months... She's been away in NZ working in a hospital for that time, so if that's not long enough to wait, then I don't know what is...

And +1 for saving on medical bills...!!

    Meh.

Viagra I don't mind so bad. If it was anti-viagra, so that you could never get a hard-on again...!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!!

Mind, I don't intend on going to the doctor's surgery, or a hospital any time in the future. Even when I'm forced to go, I never take the drugs they give me anyway....

The body is simply amazing at healing itself. Drugs only dull the pain a bit, or help fight off infections really (yes, there are other drugs that do a VAST variety of stuff, but that's not my point). I have a great immune system, and an incredible pain tolerance, so I've never found I've needed drugs. Even when I broke my own leg!!! Never seen a doctor - I was told I wasn't allowed...

    chaz,

its always hard to have to break up with someone, esecially if you still like her even if you dont love her. i can imagine even though your mind is made up there must be some mixed emotions, not least the half exciting and half frightening prsopect of being single again

my advice in order to make the whole affair slightly less painfull is to tell her that you need to split up because if you dont there is every chance she will end up in a ditch with her head pointing backwards and you dont want to have to do that to someone again.
