fair swap?
nope.
you lose big time."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
why do i lose?0
-
what do you gain?
your bike is more of a jump bike than his."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
-
well i want it for downhill and dirt jumps0
-
more of an all rounder0
-
then just change your fork."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
but that costs money and i can get this for free0
-
what's so bad about that frame?0
-
get what for free, a crap fork a frame that new mech hanger will be fun to find.
then you will need to stop the chain coming off.
I can see nothing that is even good about that build.
as you may have seen he is only being offered just over 100 for the bike as a whole.
even a Kona would get more than that."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
ok i get the picture it's rubbish i'll keep mine.0
-
I'd have his fork.0

maybe but it is the most basic of the toras. with only rebound. at least the Dirt jams on the Kona have preload adjust"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

who's? the tora, i would aswell its adjustable so i can use it for dirtjumping and dh0

There is summat atop the other leg... hard to see if it is a air valve, preload adjuster or uturn adjuster lol.0 -
Mine have rebound not preload!
And his forks adjust from 80 to 135mm travel that's why i was interested in the bike really0 -

dont do it both bikes are about the same but yours is worth more. Like i said at the start you will be the loser.
all your bike needs is a better fork. a strip and clean of yours would help a lot."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
Parktools :?:SheldonBrown0 -
A strip and clean? what does that mean?
Ok could you reccomend me a good fork?0 -
well i know what a clean is lol0
-
Toras are not good forks for downhill, they're barely passable as an XC fork. Get some rockshox pikes or something if you can afford it.0
-
They are great all round forks.0
-
what, pikes or toras? Toras are good on a budget, but they don't have a great deal of adjustablity, they're heavy and they don't handle the rough stuff too well. That said, i only have experience of the lower end of the range, but i do know pikes are great forks, if you can afford them. Some Rockshox recons or revelations could also be a good alternative.0
-
Tora 318. Before the new Rev chassis, the Tora and Rev used the same lower legs, seals, bushings and when had a coil version, Uturn spring. Also the 318 has motion Control damping (albeit fixed floodgate) and with solo air rather than dual air - but the steel stanchions and beefier crown make it stiffer.
Is a really good fork, which is why I use it on my zaskar.0 -
yeah, but i wouldn't really say they were suited to DH, which is what the OP seems to want.0
-
I'd agree with that lol
I good all fork.0 -
yes but surely they will be better than dirt jam pros 100mm for dh? i mean im not talking flatout technical world cup stuff i just mean slightly technical fast flowing berms around my local trails.0
-
but tell me about the frame what are you thoughts on that? would it handle nicely? or can't you tell from the picture?0
-
