False Insurance Claims

Anyone else had any problems with people making false insurance claims against them/ reporting them to the police?
Had a tw@t of a taxi driver say i smashed in all of his drivers side of the car when i didn't even hit him! Police looked at CCTV and said i didn't hit him either but advised i speak to my insurer and they've gone and created a claim file! They keep contacting this other guys insurance company and they don't have a record of a claim (which proves i didn't hit him because he'd want money if i did).
After ages on the phone they've agreed to ask if the file can be closed so it doesn't affect my re-insuring quotes as it's currently putting them up by £100.
So frustrated! Any pearls of wisdom? Anyone work for an insurance company?

Find the guy and kill him. That he wont be able to make any more fake claims against you. Also if hes dead his claim will be dropped so you're insurance will go back to normal.
