Will the prices of 2010 models jump up and all the 2009 models quickly disappear? So should i buy ASAP?
Currently looking at Focus Cayo 105 / Boardman Team Carbon
(and sort of maybe one of these: http://www.comtat.co.uk/products/1.htm because i think it looks 'pretty' (sorry!), and the bloke who set up the company is local to me)
Thanks

The prices of the previous years bikes are dependent on the stock levels
It seems, this year that the manufacturers underestimated how many bikes they were going to sell, so there are less deals around
As long as you get a deal you're happy with then that's fineRichard

Boardman are not releasing a 2010 range so prices are likely to stay the same, although the pro has gone up by £100 to £1,599.
They are about to release the Team Carbon in a limited edition, if you haven't seen it already - same price as the standard. Only 500 being released so you might need to be quick.Limited Edition Boardman Team Carbon No. 448

Hi all.
Im in the same boat. I ride my MTB during the winter and im going to treat myself to a road bike in the spring for the light mornings before work. I was going to wait to hopefully get a 2010 bike in the January sales.
I have a LBS who stock Orbea bikes, which look really nice. I also have a couple of other bike shops nearby who stock the Giant Defy range and the Spesh Allez/Secteur range, which i also fancy.
But after seeing another post, the 2009 bikes actually went up in price at the beginning of the year, so im guessing the latest bikes wont be in the sales come January???
Saying that though, i do have a 10% off voucher for Halfords, so i could use that against a Boardman which i also fancy, and they get great reviews!!!
What should i do???0 -
I think it all depends on how much money you want to save. 2009 bikes can be had for a bargain at the mo (about 30% off) but you should be able to get a discount off 2010 models too (I reckon about 15%).
If you're going to wait then my advice would be to ring round until you find a shop that wants to do business. Any bike shop that won't give you a discount doesn't want to sell bikes as far as I'm concerned, especially in January. Provided you're willing to ring round then you should get what you're after with a bit of haggling.
Personally I'd buy now but that's because there's not much I like for 2010.0 -
I'm the same, I'm going to wait. There are always offers on so unless it's an amazing bargain (some of the higher end Cayos are but out of my range) then leave it. Things change in 3 months so I may not want what I think I want now. I'm going to spend £1600 then I will be happy to wait to know I've made the right choice.0

I wouldn't hang around...I bought an ;09 in sept for £500 less than the 2010 model,,,I needed a 56, there were hardly any around and only the one at the price I paid. The deals on popular sizes tend to sell fairly quickly0

But, are the prices of the 2010 bikes likely to rise in the new year does anyone know?0

It's hard to tell.
The bikes that are left tend to be unusual sizes, it's worth ringing round, thoughRichard
