Scott Scale or Scott Aspect?

I need a mountain bike to drive on the mountain 2-3 times a week, not something extreme. I don't intent to take part in a race (but you never know).
Which is the best choice for me?
Thank you!

depends on the models, but i'd usually go for a scale if you can get on with the quite aggressive position.
  • Scott Aspect 20 or Scale 70-40 (not decided yet  )
The problem is that I can not try them both in the city I leave.
Is the aggressive position a problem for a non- racer? This is my only concern.
    Thank you!
  • I've got the Scale 30, I believe it's similar geometry, and I am certainly no racer, it suits me just fine. It is slightly different than a normal trail HT, longer tube and slightly lower, but it suits me because I have good reach anyway, in fact it solves the problem of me feeling cramped for room on most trail bikes. That said, I'd try one first, all bikes fit differently, and one mans rocking chair is another mans swing.

  • I have a Scott Scale 35 and think its a great bike. I tweeked the ride position by dropping the stem to 90mm and adding a low riser handle bar to it.

Good shout, I intend to fit a riser at some time too, just want to get some wear out of the bar it came with, but I think most people fit risers, and if I remember rightly I think the 2010 models come with a riser.
