Fork Upgrade for Kona Fire Mountain

I am looking for some advice on the way to go with upgrading the forks on my Kona Firemountain. Its an old model with v brakes and I don't want to convert to discs.
My riding is normally low key XC but on the odd occassion I have been exposed to easy red run trails.
Budget isn't really my key issue but I don't want an over engineered fork beyond the capability of the rest of the machine.
There are some really good offers around on Rock Shocks at present but most of these won't cater for the v brake option.
Wiggle has an offer on a pair of RS SIDS which have v brake bosses but is this overkill for me and my Kona.
By the way the engine isn't too good on the Kona these days and I could probably use the weight reduction of the SIDS however its probably cheaper and more beneficial to cut down on the lard.
Thanks in advance
Martin.

Tora SLs start from £130 and can be got with V bosses. Also Recons for weight savings.0

I'll check out on the SL's and Recons.

toras are a nice budget fork, fairly plush but not amazing when you really abuse them. Nice enough though.I hear those maguras are nice and can handle more abuse, but they dont have the extra travel in them. depends what you want0

Toras can take a lot of thrashing due to all that steel lol.
But for an older model, which can't take more than 100mm of travel say, there is no point in U turn.0
