Just got my baby back from hospital and the front mech is actually touching the chain.
I have no doubt if I push even slightly too hard, the chain will come off.
Before now I have played around with the 2 screws and it's been perfect.
Sadly on the last couple occasions I've managed to make a bad situation worse.
So here goes.
Looking from my front wheel down, 1 screw is at 12 o'clock, and one is at 9.
If these do move the mech which one does and what way/how far should it be turned to move the mech a couple of mm's towards the frame.
Ta muchly

Might be better posting this in the Workshop section0

Try this for a general guide http://www.parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=75
IIRC it's normally the right-hand screw that adjusts the "high" (outer) setting - it may be marked with a "H" - try turning it a quarter of a turn in each direction & you should see the mech move relative to the chain.Cycling weakly0 -
funnily enough I've got the same issue.
No tweaking but on weekend bike ride when downshifting twice my front derailiur threw off the chain. It then seemed to not want to be able to get back up to 'the big ring'
I need to have a play around with the system and this thread is a good place to find out how to play about with it0
