Campag G3 wheels- anyone else got a single silver spoke

Ive got a new pair of Campag Vento wheels with the G3 type spoking. I noticed yesterday that in each wheel amongst the black spokes there is a single thicker gauge stainless one.
Ive been told by the supplier that this is a design feature of the wheels and is a dynamic balancing feature.

It seems very strange that campag would go to all the trouble of designing a great looking wheel only to add a conventional spoke in amongst all the black ones

    If you look at the picture on the Campy website it shows a single different colored spoke.
    Obviously this is a "feature". Whether it's a useful "feature" or not is probably an object of much discussion. Campy wouldn't try and fool anyone into thinking it was something special if it wasn't? Right?? :wink::wink:

    The suppliers explanation sounds plausible to me. And, Bike Radar's verdict is in accord also

    They look to be a good deal. The G3 spoke pattern looks great too.

    They have the same spoke on the Bora Ultras... until I saw this post I thought that the bike shop I bought the wheels from had sold me a second hand pair with a replaced spoke...
    On the Bora Ultra's the spoke is black like the others but much thicker... also it is on the drive side of the rear wheel.
