hi there, looking at ordering some juicy 5 brakes. but what is the difference between a post mount and a IS mount?

there rear comes as IS mount, but the front comes as either at post or IS mount.

what does this mean?

That should explain the difference & help you decide which you need.
  • In case you don't know Avid do loads of different adaptors for the calipers so you can swap between post and IS mount as I had to recently when I changed my forks. Cost around 7 quid each - try chainreactioncycles
  • yea thanks, great answer, solved my problem.
