hi folks, as ive said before on here when it comes to the technical side of things im crap, although i like to do all my own work if i can id much rather have my bikes grips in my hand than a spanner.. so what im asking here will probably sound stupid to those of you that know what im on about: but if you dont know, you dont know... and i dont know
i took my new bike out for a spin this morning and im guessing its the freehub sounds like a real loud babys rattle ever time i freewheel or push (which i do WAY to much of) its not something ive ever had before. ok it doesnt effect the ride but its driving me crazy! so you guys think changing the freehub will stop this? if so any reccomendations of a suitable one? the spec i know of the bike is below
thanks
steve

not happening.
remove it and give it a lube.
Sun ringle hubs do make more noise than shimano."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

whats not happening, me getting pis*ed of with and and changing it?2009 Viper Carbon XT > my rides < 2009 Marin Wolf Ridge 6.90 -
i gave it a grease earlier, put loads in and its quiter, but still loud compared to my shimano freehubs.. and to be honest i think its gona bug the hell outa me, and i can see me changing it
one wierd thing though, bearing in mind it must be around ten years since i changed a freehub (found the old one in my workshop a couple of weeks ago.. i really need to clean more often!) last time i did it, i had to use the lockring tool to take the cassette of to get to the freehub and remove it from the wheels hub. this time i took the wheel of and the whole cassette slid of with the freehub inside, is this normal now? worried me a bit2009 Viper Carbon XT > my rides < 2009 Marin Wolf Ridge 6.90 -
different hub/body construction.
Oh is you dont like the Ringle then your options are very limited."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
