Sounds like someone pulled the lever while the wheel was out of the bike?
Take the wheel out, stick a screw driver in, lever them apart with the screw driver. Then wheel back on, tighten up QR. Loosen up the bolts that attach the calliper to the mount. Pull the brake lever (hard), and tighten the bolts back up. Test. If not, try loosening the bolts again, pull lever, tighten back up.0 -
If you haven't pulled the lever with the wheel out pushing them back isn't going to make any difference as the first time you use the brakes they'll return to their current position. What makes you think they are too close? It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result0
