I need to set myself up with a hardtail.

Having gone to a full susser I'm really missing my little bumpy steed. It was going to be a Yeti DJ but for some reason I've set my heart on an Evil frame.

Now its purely asthetics, but I really want something lairy and green and Evil do the sovereign in a Kelly Green whatver that is. So thats got m etempted, Although I;m really loving the Yellow Faction.

Perhaps yellow will be the new green I dunno.

Anyway so any suggestions or pics of a green soverign would be good.

If you want some more info. I'm 6ft 2 hazel eyes and I WILL BE throwing down the odd red/black runs, probably XCing it as a back up bike, a bit of street, park and playing airtime with the odd DJ Sesh.Nothing serious just fun times.

So any advice or help will be greatfully recived.
And after all I can always get it repainted if I really have to have it green.

Thanks in advance

  • OH NO that makes it more complicated.

I nearly went for one of those or a yeti DJ, but set my heart on an Evil I think.

There's a review of the Evil in the latest MBUK (244, Autumn 2009) if you're still undecided.

    I'd like to see that article aswell (no MBUK for me over here....) they have made several changes that, on paper, seem to be for the worse;

no longer 853 (now 4130 iirc) ... however this does make it quite a lot cheaper
sliding dropouts but not as much wheelbase adjustment as the old 2 position plus sliding dropouts design
no longer has a burning skull on the front

Silver fish also charge pounds for dollars so if you can pick one up state-side you'll save a lot (I got mine in Canada)

I have an 853 Silver Evil Sov and I love it. definitely on the heavy side but that makes it capable of just about anything (and certainly more than this pilot can manage) and it's only an extra pound on the all up weight compared to a 456 (for example)

couple of pics (you'll have to imagine the colour)

now a single position sliding dropout for '10 unlike before (depends if you'll use it tbh)

Burning skull makes it go faster. natch
